Graffiti is classed as anything which is written, scratched, painted or sprayed on the surface of any property.
We carry out free removal of graffiti from:
- Public buildings
- Street furniture
- Monuments.
Any reports regarding privately owned property such as telephone boxes, bus shelters and post boxes are the responsibility of the owner/company. A charge will apply for removal.
How do I report graffiti?
You can report graffiti as a Wigan Borough resident through MyAccount or as a non-resident.
Once reported, we aim to remove graffiti within 5 working days. Graffiti which is classed as racist or offensive in nature should be removed within 24 hours or as soon as possible.
Private and commercial property
We can remove graffiti from private or commercial property. A charge will apply and an indemnity form will need to be completed by the owner.
