Frequently asked questions

The data which I previously entered has disappeared

Please do not use the back arrow button on your browser when completing a process. If you do, your data will be lost and you will need to return to MyAccount to restart the process.

My appointment request is still showing as initiated within 'My history'

Initiated will appear if you have been unsuccessful in booking your appointment i.e. by aborting the process part way through or if you encountered an error. Please try again.

Once you have completed the process in full, you will receive confirmation on screen of the appointment time and the status will show as ‘Confirmed’ within 'My history'. In addition, you will receive email confirmation.

When will my appointment be confirmed?

Once you have completed the process in full within MyAccount your appointment will be confirmed instantly. You will receive confirmation on screen of the appointment time and the status of the transaction will show as ‘Confirmed’ within the 'My history' section.

In addition, you will receive email confirmation. Where you have made a payment, two emails will be received, one will acknowledge payment and the other will confirm the appointment time. 

No appointment time slots are available

Please select the office you would wish to attend and click on the preferred date for the appointment. If no slots are available on that date, you will need to select an alternative date.

Can I book an appointment to register a death on behalf of the person attending the appointment?

Yes. Please register or login to MyAccount and complete the process on their behalf.  

I’ve forgotten my appointment time

You will need to login to MyAccount and from within the 'My history' section click on the confirmed appointment. Your appointment date and time will then be displayed.

Alternatively, check your email. You should have received an email confirmation at the time the appointment was made.

I need to pay for my marriage ceremony

You will need to login to your MyAccount and click on the confirmed marriage within the 'My history' section. Click on 'Payments' to make a payment.
