Summer of Culture 2018

Summer of Culture logo

This year Wigan Borough is celebrating a summer of culture, with a whole programme of cultural activities, events, shows and exhibitions that will continue through to September.

  • Events guide 2018 (we're adding more events all the time please see the new additional events below which aren't in the guide)

Organisations across the borough are coming together to celebrate the wealth of creativity, innovation and heritage we have to offer.

So why not come along and join us for concerts that’ll make you move your feet, art exhibitions that will inspire you, festivals that will lift your spirits and world class entertainment at every turn.

There’s something for everyone to see, hear, create and discover, and whilst you’re in the borough, you’ll find some amazing shopping, beautiful parks and delicious food and drink - helping you spend a little longer absorbing the cultural atmosphere!

Bookmark this page to stay up to date on all the incredible activities taking place.

It’s easy to get around!

Wigan has two railway stations, Wigan North Western and Wigan Wallgate, whilst the guided busway links Leigh and surrounding towns to Manchester city centre. Bus links are great and there are plenty of car parks across the borough to help you get to the action.

Don’t feel left out - Wigan Borough includes the large towns of Wigan and Leigh, as well as Haigh Woodland Park in the north and Pennington Flash in the south of the borough.

New additional events

The events below are all in addition to those already in the events guide 2018. We'll keep adding more as they are confirmed!
