As a result of new housing developments in Standish, Golborne and Lowton, Wigan Council has secured funding to improve the local area, mitigating impacts caused by the new housing.
Some of the funds will be used for education, however, there are considerable funds available for infrastructure schemes, including potential changes to road layouts, new parking facilities and improved cycling and walking.
These surveys seek overall public opinion on these schemes, as well as providing you with an overview of community projects that can be brought forward to enhance local parks and community centres.
We recognise how important it is for the community that we spend the money in a way that will benefit residents the most. As a result, we have been working with community groups and ward councillors to discuss these schemes, which will be delivered long-term.
