Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks are used to establish if someone has a criminal record. There are three types of DBS check or disclosure:
- Standard - This will show a person’s filtered convictions, cautions, warnings and reprimands that are held on the police national computer
- Enhanced -This shows everything that the standard check does, plus additional discretional background information from local police forces
- Enhanced with barred list check - This shows everything that the enhanced check does, plus an additional check of the appropriate ”barred list” for the work being done.
