Health services are here for you this winter. Please consider accessing the following options first and always leave A&E for serious injury or life-threatening emergencies only.

Pharmacy

All local pharmacies will be on a rota basis over the Christmas period. Search for NHS Find a Pharmacy at www.nhs.uk

Ensure you have enough remedies such as paracetamol in your house for coughs and colds.

Leigh Urgent Treatment Centre

General health advice and treatment for minor injuries or ailments including, cuts or minor burns, fractures, sprains, and x-rays (of upper / lower limbs), emergency contraception and sexual health.

No appointment is necessary. Open 7am to 9pm, 365 days a year at Leigh Health Centre, The Avenue, Leigh, WN7 1HR, 01942 483453.

GP and Dental Services

If your GP or dentist is closed, please contact:

NHS 111 for confidential health information and advice, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week or online at www.111.nhs.uk

GP evening and weekend appointment service on 01942 482848. Appointments 6.30pm to 8pm and on weekends and bank holidays 10am to 4pm except Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.

GP out of hours service, available by calling NHS 111 is open 6.30pm to 8am and all weekend (Fridays 6.30pm to 8am Monday), including all bank holidays.

Greater Manchester Urgent Dental Care Service on 0333 3323800 (8am to 10pm every day, including weekends and bank holidays).
