Girls cycling session
Cycling sessions for 11-18 year old girls. Borrow bikes and helmets for free.

This Girl Can Run
Women should feel safe to exercise outdoors even in the darker months. In support of the This Girl Can ‘Lift the curfew' campaign join Be Well Wigan to run or walk 1.5 - 3 miles in a group setting. For women and girls aged 14+

Memories – an evening with author Miriam Gold and BBC DJ Shaun Keaveny
Bring your memories of local inspirational woman, Dr Elena Zadik, one of the founders of Grasmere Street Surgery and join us for a night of nostalgia and storytelling over supper. The event will be hosted by former patient of Dr Zadik’s, BBC DJ Shaun Keaveny, who will be joined by Dr. Zadik’s granddaughter and award-winning author, Miriam Gold.

Walk the Wigan Way (approx. 9 miles)
Open to everyone! Please wear appropriate footwear, as some areas may be muddy.

Self defence course
Join our empowering self-defence course designed for women and girls aged 12 and up! With a limit of 20 participants per session (extra sessions available if needed), you'll learn essential self-defence techniques and the legal considerations of using them. Gain the confidence to protect yourself in various situations. Booking is required, and all proceeds support our community programmes.

Wigan and Leigh Hospice afternoon tea
If you want to join other women for an afternoon of tea and cakes and support Wigan and Leigh Hospice – this Ladies Who Lunch event, the last in our series of International Women’s Day events this month, might be for you!
Tickets cost £30 and include a glass of fizz on arrival, sandwiches, scones, fresh cakes, along with a gift to take away. The event features speakers from Wigan Warriors and Holland and Barratt and is in aid of Wigan and Leigh Hospice.
