Wigan Borough Local Plan: Planning for the Future to 2040

We are preparing a new Local Plan for Wigan Borough to 2040.

Consultation took place on the Options and Preferences for our Local Plan and associated Map Book from 24 October - 18 December 2023. All comments received are being reviewed by the Council and will inform an initial draft of the Local Plan which will be consulted on in Spring/Summer 2025.

A summary of the responses received at different stages of the Local Plan’s preparation are as follows:
