Consultation on the initial draft of the Wigan Borough Local Plan ended on Tuesday 24th June 2025.
Thank you to all residents, businesses and other stakeholders who have submitted comments. Your views are really important to us.
We will now review all the comments received and use them to shape the Publication version of the Local Plan. This is the version of the plan that we want to adopt and it will be subject to one further consultation before we submit it to the Secretary of State for independent examination, along with any representations received at that stage.
The Publication version of the Local Plan will be supported by a robust evidence base, a full Integrated Assessment of its policies and proposals against sustainability, health and equality considerations, and a Habitats and Regulation Assessment. A Consultation Report summarising the comments received on the initial draft of the Local Plan and our response will also be published at this stage.
