Authority Monitoring Report

The role of Authority Monitoring Reports is to monitor progress on local plan preparation and the performance of policies within the adopted Development Plan.

The new Wigan Local Plan, currently at a preliminary stage of preparation, will focus on seven key themes; homes, jobs, town centres, transport, places, people, and environment. The Authority Monitoring Report monitors key measurable indicators relating to each of the themes, generally seeking improvements on the 2011 baseline position and establishing a baseline position where an indicator has not been previously monitored.

All councils are required to publish an Authority Monitoring Report annually.
