Drug and alcohol treatment - young people

If you're aged 18 or under and want to talk to someone about yourself, a family member or a friend's substance use, help is available.

Drug and alcohol treatment for young people in Wigan is being delivered by We Are With You.

Help for you

We will ask you where you feel comfortable discussing your support needs e.g. community centres, school or youth club. Telephone and online support is also available.

  • Talk to someone online - online support is available if you need advice for yourself or to support a friend or relative.
  • Make an appointment or find your nearest service (external link) - Appointments are available face to face and in the community. We will ask you where you feel comfortable discussing your support needs e.g. community centres, school or youth club.

Help if your parent/carer has a problem

If you are affected by your parents' or carers' drug or alcohol use, we work with children and young people both on a one-to-one basis and within the family group.

We provide advice and education on substance misuse and the harm it causes. We provide a safe space for you to explore your own thoughts and feelings around your parents and carers.

We want to make sure that you are safe and we will support your whole family to help them address their issues and move forward.
