Mandatory Training for Drivers

It is mandatory for all private hire / hackney carriage driver licence holders to attend one of the training sessions arranged by the Licensing Team.

The purpose of the training is to improve public safety, by ensuring that licence holders are aware of important issues related to their occupation as a public transport provider and also ensuring they understand their responsibilities.

The private hire / hackney carriage driver training will cover the following:

  • Safeguarding
  • Child Sexual Exploitation
  • Human Trafficking and County Lines
  • Disability Awareness
  • Inappropriate Behaviour
  • Licence Conditions.

The times of the training will vary for each date and full details can be found below.

Failure to attend one of the arranged training sessions will result in the suspension of your private hire / hackney carriage driver licence.
