Wigan Council is partnered with Research in Practice, who provide learning and development resources, as well as expertise and training.

As a children’s social worker at Wigan Council, you'll have access to a variety of Research in Practice resources, designed to help develop, expand and maintain your knowledge on a wide range of topics.

They offer complementary ways to engage and learn as well as providing opportunities to reflect on and evaluate your learning, best practice and the impact this has for you and the people you support, whatever your role or level of experience.

How to set up a Research in Practice account

To set up an account and access the resources, you will need to create an account online using your work email address.

Once you have an account you can access the resources from any PC, tablet or smart phone with internet access. You don’t need to be at your desk or in the office.
