Funded by The National Lottery Heritage Fund, the old Bothy cottages, situated in the former zoo area, will be restored to create a training, education, event and volunteering space. The outdoor area will support horticultural activities.
This is also a nod to the estate’s history, as this is how a bothy yard would have operated in days gone by. The yard would have traditionally been a working area, with it and the walled gardens growing food and flowers for the hall.
The transformation will support the delivery of an inspirational horticultural vision including the development of the Kitchen Garden that will serve the hospitality offer in the Hall with a stronger emphasis on volunteers, training and education.
Repairs to the ornamental pond and priority repairs to the footpath network will also form part of this project.
