Redesignation of Golborne and Lowton West Neighbourhood Forum
Golborne and Lowton West Neighbourhood Forum’s designation as a Neighbourhood Forum expired on 3rd October 2024. They have applied to be redesignated for another 5 years to help ensure that the Golborne and Lowton West Neighbourhood Plan (which became part of the borough’s development plan in 2023) is implemented effectively.
The re-designation of the Neighbourhood Forum is currently out for consultation until 5pm on Wednesday 18th December. Share your thoughts with us.
The group has submitted an application for re-designation. This is in line with the Town and Country Planning Act (1990) and the Neighbourhood Planning regulations:
The Neighbourhood Forum relates to the Golborne and Lowton West Neighbourhood Area. If Golborne and Lowton West Neighbourhood Forum is redesignated as the Neighbourhood Forum, no other organisation or body may be designated for that neighbourhood area until that designation expires or is withdrawn.
Paper copies of the submitted documents can also be viewed at Golborne library.
Neighbourhood Plan agreed at Referendum
The Neighbourhood Plan was adopted following a Referendum on 6 July 2023.

A hard copy of the Neighbourhood Plan can be viewed at Golborne Library.
The Golborne and Lowton West Neighbourhood Plan is part of the development plan for the borough. This means that all planning applications within the Golborne and Lowton West Neighbourhood Area need to agree with the plan, subject to other considerations.
