What types of properties can I be considered for?
It is also important you meet any criteria which is stated on the property advert.
How do I apply for a property I am interested in?
To find a home and make a bid for a property please visit:
Properties are advertised on a weekly basis from 9am each Thursday until 5pm the following Tuesday. Please note we do not allocate properties on a first come first served basis and you can place your bids any time up until 5pm on Tuesday. You may experience some difficulties accessing your housing account on Thursday’s due to the amount of applicants trying to place bids and we would therefore recommend that you bid on an alternative day if possible.
Alternatively download a property weekly list or contact us.
How will I know if I have been successful?
We will contact you, usually by telephone, to offer you the property and arrange a viewing.
We are only able to contact those applicants who are successful in obtaining an offer of accommodation.
If you have not been contacted within 7 days of the property advert closing, please assume that you have not been successful on this occasion.
You can check the status of each property on your Housing online account by clicking on the 'Previous property bids' section. This is the quickest and easiest way to find out where properties are up too.
Please continue to place bids each week on the homes you are interested in and remember to let us know if you change your address or telephone number, so that we can contact you if you are successful.
Can I refuse an offer of a property?
Yes, but if you refuse three offers of accommodation without good reason, your application may be disqualified for 12 months.
If you are accepted as homeless the rules are different so please contact us before refusing an offer of accommodation.
How long will I have to wait for a home?
It is difficult to say how long you may have to wait. Demand for different areas and property types can vary and also depends on the priority you have been awarded.
