The demand for Construction workers has been high for a long time in Wigan with no signs of slowing down. With a constant stream of house building, town centre regeneration, infrastructure creation and net zero projects, a future career in this area is a safe bet for long term work.

According to the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB), an extra 25,400 construction workers will be needed in the Northwest to satisfy demand over the next few years. In Wigan alone, there has been a 40% increase over the last two years in construction vacancies.

Companies are crying out for a new generation of qualified workers due to skills shortages.

Careers span far and wide in construction. A lot of the work is hands on in the heart of the action. But not all roles are on-site. Many roles are technical and mainly office based like engineering, project management and architecture. There truly is something for everyone.
