Once you have selected a venue, you need to provisionally book your ceremony. Bookings can be made up to 3 years in advance and there is a non-refundable booking fee payable. The booking fee confirms the date, time and place of your ceremony.
For ceremonies at Council venues (Wigan Life Centre, Wigan Town Hall, Leigh Town Hall or Mesnes Park) your booking includes the ceremony room, and attendance of the registrars who will conduct your ceremony.
For ceremonies at approved venues, your booking only includes the registrars attendance to conduct your ceremony. You must also contact your chosen venue to secure your date with them.
Once you have made your provisional booking, you will be emailed details of when you must give your notice of marriage/civil partnership and how to make final payments.
Paying for your ceremony
All payments are made by credit or debit card.
All ceremony fees are payable no later than 3 months before the ceremony date.
Any bookings made within 3 months or less of the ceremony date must be paid in full on time of booking.
In the event the ceremony fee is not paid by the due date, a late payment fee will be added to the booking.
Please be aware that fees are subject to change on the 1st April each year. To avoid this increase you may pay your fees prior to the 1st April.
