Before you apply
Before you complete this application, you must read the Equity Loan Scheme or Discounted Homes Scheme factsheets which explains the schemes and their eligibility criteria. You will also need to know which development and property type you are interested in before applying.
Please also note that this application form is only for properties available through a Wigan Council affordable housing scheme. To apply for a property which is available through a Registered Provider scheme, please contact the Registered Provider directly, or the development’s sales office.
After you submit your application form, you will need to provide your supporting evidence and documentation to affordablehomes@wigan.gov.uk so that we can progress your application. For each applicant, this should include:
- Photo ID, e.g. passport or driving licence
- Your last 3 months’ payslips, or equivalent, e.g. 13 weeks’ payslips. Or, if you’re self-employed, your past two years’ tax returns or certified accounts
- Evidence of other income
- Evidence of your local connection.
If we have not received your supporting information or contact from you within 28 days of receiving your application, or if you have used the form to apply for a scheme which is not a Wigan Council scheme, your application will be closed.
