Assistant Director - Planning and Regeneration, Wigan Council.
I am Wigan Council’s Assistant Director for Planning and Regeneration. Originally qualifying as a planner, I have since gained over 20 years’ experience in the development and regeneration sector in Greater Manchester and Lancashire. I have worked at Wigan Council since 2017.
I have worked on a wide range of plans and funding bids relating to town centres, infrastructure and housing, and have in depth experience of neighbourhood planning including as an independent examiner. I am currently leading the production of the Council’s new Local Plan, as well as the deepening of David Proctorpartnership working in Ashton in Makerfield through the town’s Innovation Board.
I am a strong advocate for sustainable places, and the idea that public funding should be a catalyst for private sector investment.
Away from work I enjoy cooking, spending time with my family and the outdoors, though I find that the weather generally prevents me from combining all three at the same time!
